Het Prentenkabinet van Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen bezit een wereldberoemde collectie van circa 18.000 tekeningen en circa 69.000 prenten. De werken zijn heel lichtgevoelig, zodat ze alleen in wisselende presentaties zijn te zien. Tot de collectie behoren tekeningen van Duitse, Nederlandse, Franse en Italiaanse meesters. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, dat zich met zijn aandacht voor het (internationale) surrealisme van alle Nederlandse musea onderscheidt, heeft een omvangrijke surreële collectie van 120 stukken. Deze wordt nog regelmatig uitgebreid en de collectie levert een zeer grote bijdrage aan de internationale bruikleenpositie van Museum Boijmans Van ....
